Abstract

After completing their sentences, female correctional inmates with cases related to drug use undergo stages of social reintegration in society. This aims to prepare them to live productively as well as properly in society. Apart from that, reintegration contains a rehabilitation function. Rehabilitation and social reintegration are very important for the phenomenon of preventing recidivism.

Community-based rehabilitation is considered relevant in this paper as a forum for social reintegration because it is local, flexible, intimate, sustainable so it is very accessible for women and makes them feel comfortable.

Narrative literature review is the method used in this research, namely the author flexibly reviews and analyzes literature that focuses more on narratives or stories rather than simply presenting data or facts objectively.  This method is relevant considering that researchers want to obtain the best synthesis from various and cross-scientific literature.

The research findings are key concepts regarding community-based rehabilitation with a comprehensive-holistic approach. A comprehensive-holistic approach includes a gender and trauma responsive approach, considering that women have gender-specific needs. Apart from that, women who are former addicts who become correctional inmates have specific vulnerabilities that result in trauma. It is hoped that the results of this research will be useful for reintegration managers in Correctional Services, Correctional Institutions, as well as activists from the Community of Ex- Drug Users and related organizations..
